Copper, Brass & Nickel Alloy Machining and Turning for High-Technology Components
As non-ferrous metals, Copper, Brass and Bronze provide excellent thermal and electric conductivity for components or end applications where connectivity and voltage are important. This family of alloys is known for having good strength, malleability, ductility and resistance to corrosion.
One of the earliest metals discovered, copper is now used in a wide variety of products given its strength, machinability, corrosion resistance and exceptional electrical and thermal conductivity. China Surgical Tools specializes in machining critical copper components for high technology, x-ray and vacuum tube systems, holding tight tolerances and polishing to maintain low, uniform and blemish free surface finishes.
An alloy of copper and zinc, Brass and Bronze are non-ferrous metals with excellent machinability, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance and ductility. Unlike mild steel, Brass and Bronze alloys do not become brittle when exposed to low temperatures and are distinctive in their disinfectant and antimicrobial properties.
Bronze alloys are exceptionally beneficial in applications with metal to metal contact, as it creates minimal friction and does not spark, while still maintaining a much harder strength than that of Copper alone.
At China Surgical Tools, we machine and turn a wide variety of parts and components from Copper, Brass and Bronze.
C101 - Copper Alloy C101 - Oxygen-Free-Electronic (OFE)
With a unique biocidal ability, this alloy is organically hygienic and provides unmatched antibacterial properties. Properties of this alloy include: superior workability and ductility, excellent strength, good thermal conduction, and resistance to corrosion in most atmospheres, including natural elements, marine, and industrial environments. C101 Copper is non-magnetic and can be sourced in high purity OFE (Oxygen Free Electronic) grades for use in high vacuum devices, x-ray tubes and semiconductor applications.
Utilization: Copper alloy C101 is also referred to as HC or high conductivity copper. Often used in construction applications (e.g. components for roofs, domes, spires and rain gutters), conductors, electric vehicles and other electrical components.
C110 - Copper Alloy C110 - Electrolytic Tough Pitch (ETP)
Superior ductility and high electrical and thermal conductivity, second only to oxygen free grades of copper (e.g. grade C10200).
Utilization: Largely used for electrical conductors, along with gaskets, switches, terminals and connectors, transformers, electronic parts, ball floats, electrical and heat exchangers, drawn and spun hollow ware.
C360 - Brass C360
This free machining brass is one of the most commonly used Copper alloys. Its strength and corrosion resistance are often compared to that of steel, C360 Brass has the highest machinability of all copper alloys. Brass can be polished to a high finish, and unlike other steel or iron alloys, will not rust under atmospheric conditions.
Utilization: Often used for gears, pinions and locks.
Bronze
Bronze alloys are available in a wide range of compositions and varying degrees of strength. Harder than Copper alone, Bronze alloys provide additional toughness, excellent shock and corrosion resistance, while maintaining its malleability and high machinability. These alloys are ideal when working in flammable, explosive and other volatile environments due to their spark free properties. Great ductility, fatigue and wear resistance, Bronze alloys provide an excellent finish and quality.
Utilization: Spring contacts, electronic and mechanical devices, diaphragms, instruments.
